Big Island Slack Key Musician, One of the most incredible voices I have ever heard. A spiritual, cultural, emotional story teller.
Its an Honor to have Darlene Ahuna as a part of my site, but more so an honor to the World that she contributes to us all...

These are some incredible Hawaiian musicians that I had the honor of meeting, I truly enjoyed there mele's,  they have a very melodramatic sound, The harmony was spirit filling, and truly set the pace for a celebration...
Not just a great musician, but a humble man that lives his art in the Spirit of Aloha. John lives on the Big Island of Hawaii and just about anytime you will see him playing his heart out for local people and Ohana ( family), to jamming with other musicians, to tourists. Theres nothing like good Slack Key Music at sunset with some ono (the one) grinds...

There struggles have created a atmosphere for Island Musicians to get rewarded financialy for there music. They all came from an all Hawaiian School called Kamehemeha as part of the choir. There harmonies are at the root of the island lifestyle, it's about real life, friends and Ohana (family), fun, food, Hula, Hawaiian culture and beliefs. These girls are a real treat and are well deserved by our planet. Thanks for the years and years of music... (Click on pictures to go to the ladies site )

Lehua is the flower of the Ohi`a tree, The flower of the Island of Hawaii, used in Mele and Spiritual meaning. It is such a tree of strength and beauty that you can see where hot lava has passed over it, burned it and it survives to grow back, so strong and beautiful the Lehua...
Gabby Pahinui, Aunty Genoe Keawe, Na leo Pilimehana, Darlene Ahuna, Kekuhi Kanahele, Amy Hanaiali`i Gilliom, Dennis Kamakahi, mixed-up kind. And all the birds, chipmunks, squirrells, deer started edging around the stereo. I even had some of the chipmunks coming right into the house with no fear of me. Thats when I truly knew how beautiful that sound is. I'm bit ashamed as an american that there isn't a Grammy catagorie for Hawaiian music. Maybe soon I hope... Aloha Nui Loa...
I believe they represent the future in music and in ethnic background. ( They make all kind, chop suey as they say in Hawaii ). I'm sure their music will be with us a long time, probly on space ships journeying to new worlds spreading  the Aloha spirit / message...( Click on any picture of the ladies and it will to there website.) Peace...
